Supporting Deer Creek Schools since 1980 May 27, 2010

What is the 2010 Golf Marathon?
It is an incredibly fun event, which will raise some serious bucks for the Deer Creek Schools Foundation. It is a way for golfers, both duffer and low handicapper alike, to rally support while doing something they really enjoy - playing golf. When compared to a traditional golf tournament, golf marathons are more fun and designed to raise significantly more money.

Here's the Fun Part
You will play a minimum of 100 holes. No, we're not kidding. One hundred holes are very possible. Many golfers in past marathons have been able to play more than 100 holes. In fact, the record for a golf marathon is an amazing 409 holes in one day! Several changes in the format of the game are made to speed up the play...
• Every golfer has his own cart and plays at his own speed.
• Golfers may hit multiple balls and each ball counts as one hole played.
• We play "ready golf" with a limited field of golfers.
• No looking for lost balls, OB's etc. Merely drop another ball and keep hitting.
• If your score on a hole reaches triple bogey, just pick up and score the hole.
• Play any hole, or series of holes, in any order as many times as you want.
• On the green, any putt inside the leather is a "gimme."

What's In It for Me?
Besides a lot of fun and the satisfaction of helping the Foundation in a big way, you will receive...

• Breakfast, Lunch and continuous refreshments.
• Plenty of golf balls to smack away.
• A tax write-off for any donated funds.

OK, What's the Catch?
Well, there really isn't any catch. Each golfer who participates in the Golf Marathon will be required to do three things.

1) “Give A Day & Play” golf at the course. Shotgun start right after breakfast.
2) Sponsor yourself for at least $100. Your tax-deductible donation is payable in advance.
3) Solicit sponsorships from family, friends, business associates etc... with a goal of raising an additional $1,000 or more. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for the Deer Creek schools.

OK, "Gimme" the Details
The Deer Creek Schools Foundation 2010 Golf Marathon will be played on Thursday May 27, 2010 at Rose Creek Golf Club. The Marathon will give you a very rare opportunity to play on an exceptional golf course -- all day -- while supporting the efforts of the Foundation. Our day's agenda will be something like this...
• Breakfast & Registration at sunrise.
• Shot gun start around 7am.
• Play at least 100 holes.
• Marathon stops when it either gets too dark to see, or the golf course staff runs us off.
• Lunch and beverages will be provided throughout the day.
